The
Indians beat the Oxnard Dawgs Friday night 9-2
in the opener of a 3-game homestand. The two teams
meet for a 12 and 4 doubleheader Saturday afternoon
before the Indians open up a crucial 6 game set
for the league title.
Santa
Maria native and Chico State 1B Josh Meagher had
a big night, going 3-5 with 3 RBI. Cody Smith
also went 2-3 with 3 runs scored and a triple.
Pitcher
Brendan McDonald got the win for the Indians,
relieving Mickey Jannis in the 4th inning.
Following
Saturday's game the Indians head to Thousand Oaks
for a league game and then play 2 against the
SLO Blues and finish the season with a 3 game
set against the Santa Barbara Foresters which
should decide the CCL title.

Indians beat the Oxnard Dawgs after yet another
strong pitching performance from Santa Maria native
John Thomas. Thomas worked 6 scoreless innings
to up his record to 5-0. Micah Spencer worked
a 1-2-3 7th inning to close the door in the first
game of a 7/7 inning doubleheader.
