The
Santa Maria Indians, for the second time of the
season, dropped 17 runs on the visiting Oaks.
On June 13 the Indians beat the Oaks at Elks Field
17-1 and Thursday night beat Conejo 17-4.
The
Tribe got out to an early 3-0 lead in the first
inning on Cory Morales RBI double, Will Campbell's
RBI groundout, and Zane Chavez's RBI single. In
the 4th inning the Indians blew open their 4-0
lead with another RBI single from Morales and
a bases clearing triple from 3B Blake Crosby.
Crosby finished the night 3-6 with 5 RBI and would
later add his first homerun of the season in the
6th inning with one on.
Nate
Smith picked up the win for the Indians who continue
to creep closer to the Santa Barbara Foresters
with a pivotal 3 game series, two in Santa Barbara,
to end the season.
