John
Thomas, pitcher for the Indians, had a great day
on the mound fanning 13 and only allowing five
hits in a complete game effort. The Indians provided
Thomas with some offensive production scoring
three in the bottom of the first. The Indians
loaded the bases with a walk by Evan Wells, a
single by Will Campbell, then another walk by
Kyle Gerhart. The next batter, Zane Chavez, would
walk advancing Wells across the plate for the
Indians first run of the ballgame. The Indians
would add two more runs off a Cory Morales double
putting them up 3-0 over the Foresters. The Indians
would tack on another run in the second off an
Evan Wells solo homer increasing the lead to four
runs.
The
Santa Barbera Foresters cut the Indians lead to
three runs in the third when Rebel Ridling hit
a sacrifice fly to left that scored Roberto Lopez
making it a 4-1 score. The Indians would make
it a four run lead again in the bottom half of
the inning when Cody Smith tripled to score Morales.
The Foresters would get another run later in the
game but were practically shut down by a great
outing by Thomas.
Morales
and Smith had a good day at the plate both going
two for four. Morales had two RBI's while Smith
had one.
