Indians bats erupt for 15 runs

In the twinbill of the Indians doubleheader against the East LA Dodgers, the Tribe tagged Dodgers starter Tom Korn for 13 runs.

The onslaught began early in the first with first basemen Josh Meagher connecting on a grand slam to right field. In the second the Indians added 4 more runs, two on an RBI double down the right field line by Tyrese McDaniel. Meagher came up with two on and hit a double down the right field line in the same spot as McDaniel's, giving him 6 RBI on the night.

In the third inning, with the Dodgers trailing 8-2 the game got very sloppy with the pitcher Korn and catcher combining for passed balls and wild pitches. The Indians extended their lead to 11-2 on 3 runs in the third with no hits.

Diego Soto picked up the win going 3 innings giving up 2 runs. Micah Spencer relieved him with 2 scoreless innings and the Cochise College duo of Cody Walden and Brendan McDonald finished off the last five innings giving up 5 runs combines.

The Indians Will Campbell connected for his second home run of the night, a 2-run blast to left field. Shortstop Rafael Valenzuela finished 2-4 with 2 runs and 2 RBI for the Indians in their 15-7 victory.
