1987 Santa Maria Indians

The 1987 Santa Maria Indians led by coach Steve McFarland went 39-3. Al Rodriguez led the team with a .464 batting average, and the player with the most impressive numbers Rex McMackin, who batted a second best .446 batting average with a team-leading 8 HR and team leading 41 RBI Dave Hajek, who batted .364 led the team with 47 hits, 12 doubles, and 4 triples. Hajek and Doug Welpott were tied for the team lead with 10 stolen bases.

Robert Sapp led the pitching staff with a 6-0 record and a 2.05 era. Dan Penner led the team with 58 strikeouts and a 5-0 record, 2.49 era. Raul Rodriguez recorded a team high 3 saves and a 3-1 record, 1.72 era. Other pitchers with impressive records were Morgan LeClair (6-0, 3.72era) and Rick Reynolds (5-0, 6.21era)
