The
Indians are looking to hire several new staff
members for the 2008 summer. If you have a passion
for sports and want to work in baseball, then
the Indians have what you are looking for. Indians
CEO Kevin Haughian, owner of the Casper Rockies
(Colorado Rockies Rookie League Affiliate) has
placed roughly over 20 of his former interns/employees
in MLB, NBA, NHL, MLS, and minor league baseball.
The
Indians are currently looking for employees who
will assist or be appointed specifically to do:
1.
Sales - required to sell season tickets, ads,
billboards, sponsorships in the town of Santa
Maria. Must be energetic with an interest in sales
2.
Marketing/PR - required to market the team around
town, promote upcoming events, press releases,
brochures, distribution of schedules
3.
Media Relations - handling all media outlets (TV,
radio, newspaper) and write/e-mail/fax press release
4.
Game Day Operations - assist the Indians with
stats, scoreboard, public address anouncing in
the press box
5.
In-Game Coordinator - recruit young kids to participate
in on-field activities, games, trivia contest,
sell raffle tickets
6.
Broadcasting - internet and radio broadcasts will
be launched this coming summer and someone with
broadcasting experience. Preferably communications/journalism
student or degree
7.
Team Trainer - someone with a sports medicine
background to travel with the team on road and
be able to stretch players, ice, and assist any
in-game injuries. Preferably Kinesiology student
or degree.
8.
Concessions - someone to sell BBQ, beer, cook,
as well as sell shirts, hats, programs, baseballs
during home games
The
Indians have used students in the Recreation (Sports
Management) field and Business Administration
field from Cal Poly San Luis Obispo. We are currently
asking any Cal Poly students, Hancock College
students, or Sports Management/Sports Marketing/Kinesiology
majors across the country with an interest in
working in sports (baseball) to send your resume
