If you are a former player who has played for
the Santa Maria Indians since its inception in
1943 to present day then we want to hear from
you. We are currently tracking down newspaper
clippings, articles, photos, rosters, and stats
of EVERY player who has ever donned the Big Red
at Elks Field. Thanks to former host mom Carolyn
Taylor the Indians have been able to track back
to as far as the 1987 season. But there are still
seasons and rosters missing. We love to hear from
former players and their fond memories of the
Indians and Scoop Nunes.
If you played for the Indians or know of a family
member or friend who has played for the Indians,
please send us some information. Please email
the team at santamariaindians@yahoo.com with any
information (phone numbers, rosters, records,
etc.) and we will place on the website so that
all former players can be properly recognized.
Once the history has tracked down enough former
players we will be sending out newsletters updating
you on the latest news from Elks Field, giving
out signature hats and polo t-shirts. All former
players will be invited every year to the Hall
of Fame dinner, be available for election into
the Santa Maria Indians Hall of Fame, and participate
in our annual Golf Tournament every year. Plus,
over the years we will properly honor all former
players at Elks Field and invite them to the Team
Welcome BBQ every June where you can meet the
new team and talk about your memories of Scoop
and the Indians.
Once
information is collected we will update every
year right here on this page! Thanks for all of
your help as we try to recognize the long standing
history that is Indians Baseball.
